Take 5 Bodywork is keeping you healthy and safe.
We at Take 5 Bodywork, while always mindful of proper hygiene and sanitation, would like to express our assurance that we have been stepping up safety and precaution measures to ensure that our space is a safe and healthy environment for all.
-
Santa Barbara's Most Comfortable Table is enhanced with waterproof barriers on the table, face cradle, and pillows to keep you safe. But don't worry, these won't interfere with your perfect comfort. You won't even notice them.
-
All linens, blankets, towels, and waterproofing are washed after each use.
-
Windows are kept open when possible throughout the session to optimize ventilation.
-
Our heating and air conditioning units have been upgraded and are regularly serviced to ensure you are breathing clean air that is free of bacteria and viruses.

Most Comfortable Table
--And Safest!
-
Sessions are offered by appointment only--no walk-ins.
-
Appointments are scheduled no less than 30 minutes apart from one another. This enables us sufficient time for sanitizing and ensures that clients don’t “bump into” each other.
-
Sessions may be postponed in the event that a client does not pass the screening, is experiencing symptoms, or has recently been exposed.
-
In the interest of time and hygiene, contactless payments are available. You will find options to pay for your session in your appointment confirmation and reminder emails.
-
Due to our improved and extensive sanitization protocols, sessions shorter than 60 minutes are not offered at this time. If you have credit for a session shorter than 60 minutes, we are happy to apply it to a longer service. Please contact Suzanna to customize this experience (805-637-3586).

Scheduling Safely

-
First and foremost, we are asking that all clients, before they come into the office, take an honest assessment of their health. Please be certain you don't feel like you're coming down with anything and haven't been in contact with those who are ill or who have recently been traveling or otherwise exposed. If so, please reschedule your visit. As per our "Sick Policy," we are happy to waive the last-minute cancellation fee.
-
We ask clients to complete a Session Check-in Questionnaire within 24 hours of their appointment, to screen clients for symptoms and recent exposure.
-
Clients must wear a mask inside the building and continue to wear it throughout the session. CDC guidelines for health care facilities, including that for facial coverings, remains in effect.
-
Upon arrival, we take each client’s temperature with a no-touch infrared thermometer, and ask them to sanitize their hands.

Healthy Clients
-
We follow a 6-page checklist to make sure that our office is in tip-top and sanitary shape for every appointment.
-
Between each session, we sanitize every nook and cranny of the office: surfaces, door knobs, handrails, light switches, chairs, step stool, products and equipment, and even the air in general.
-
Sanitizing equipment and supplies include disinfectants proven to kill 99.9% of viruses including SARS-COV-2 (Coronavirus); a HEPA air purifier with a UV-C light; and a vacuum cleaner with a UV-C light.
-
Our towel warmer also has a UV light.

Sanitization
-
If the therapist feels even the slightest tickle in her throat, or has possibly been exposed, she will inform the client right away and get tested before resuming sessions.
-
We wash our hands/forearms per CDC guidelines before and after each session, and use hand sanitizer as well. We'd appreciate if clients took a moment to do the same.
-
These days you will likely find your favorite massage therapist garbed in full PPE: an N-95 mask covered by a second protective mask, goggles, and/or a face shield. This keeps both client and therapist healthy and ready for a long future of massages.
-
Suzanna is also happy to wear disposable gloves during your session. Please advise her if this would make you more comfortable.
-
Suzanna continues these protective protocols even though she has been fully vaccinated (and boosted) as an essential health care worker.
